MASTER’S MESSAGE

From the East

Happy New Years Brothers,

Let me first say how honored I am to be the Worshipful Master for the ensuing year and what a privilege it is for me to sit in the East.  We have many exciting things planned for the year and will do our best to keep all the brothers informed as to the happenings in the lodge.  Our degree work will begin early this year (February 15th - EA Degree) and by the look of things we may be doing additional degrees to support the increase in petitions that we are receiving.  My goal was to raise 10 brothers this year and by the look of things right now we may have 7 candidates getting ready to take degrees.

I will be asking the assistance of some of the officers and brothers of the lodge to assist me in reaching out to each of you during the course of the year to encourage you to attend a lodge meeting or event.  We have invested a lot of time into building up our member database which will help us to become more efficient in processing the yearly dues, providing communications to the brothers and helping us to provide an outreach program for the brothers.  Our Lodge of Instruction will be geared towards not only helping the newly admitted brothers through their degrees but to also help brothers who have not been to lodge in a while by offering a refresher course on the signs, words, symbol, degrees etc.. and to our officer line or brothers who would like to seek a position as an officer of the lodge.  My job as Master is to help educate and provide a means for each of you to advance yourselves in masonry no matter what course you wish to choose.  I believe that Masonic education truly builds Masonic retention.

God bless each of you and I look forward to meeting and sharing time with each of you during the course of the year

 Fraternally -

WM Jerry Cavaliere

WARDEN’S CORNER

From the West

Greetings from the West,

I would like to first congratulate our Worshipful Master on his newly elected position.  The brothers of Compass Lodge #9 have bestowed a level of trust on WM Jerry to lead us in 2010 from the East.  I would also like to thank the Brothers of Compass Lodge #9 for entrusting in me the level of confidence to lead from the West – I am humbled by this honor.

Compass Lodge is vibrant and the officer line continues to grow with new members.  The opportunities are endless both inside and outside of lodge.  Worshipful Master Jerry started the process of forming committees for the pursuing year as well as establishing a theme of Brothers Breaking Bread – a time to enjoy fellowship and a meal together – please come and join us!  Other planned activities throughout the year include the Wine Tasting and Golf tournament which have been highly successful due in part to the dedication and leadership of Brother Ron Hansen Jr...

The “Blue Wave” of membership continues to be strong for Masonry in general and in particular Compass Lodge #9.  Investigation committees have been busy and we are positioned to put 5 candidates through the first round of degrees!

Most importantly we want to hear from you, the Brothers!  Become involved either through a fund raising activity, helping out with a meal, joining the Officer Line or just coming to a meeting.   Please send us any updated contact information back with your dues fee.

Fraternally,

Jeffrey Cavaliere – Senior Warden

From The South

Greetings from the South,
Brothers! I hope that you all had a wonderful and fulfilling holiday and New Year. I am looking forward to my year as Jr. Warden under the leadership and guidance of the the Sr Warden Jeff and Worshipful Master Jerry. I am proud to be a part of Compass Lodge #9 and its officer line. I look forward to seeing you all at the lodge and for those of you that have not come to lodge in awhile I encourage you to make a meeting or a degree. The dedication and talent at Compass #9 makes the ritual work great and there is nothing better than a full lodge of brothers who can share the experience.  Remember to use the teachings of Freemasonry to better ourselves, our community and each other.

Fraternally,
D. Brett Charest- Junior Warden
