MASTER’S MESSAGE From the East Brothers, First let me thank you all for the opportunity to serve as the Master of Compass Lodge. It is an honor for me to be part of this wonderful organization and I look forward to the year ahead. A special thank you to all of those who helped out at the Installation on December 5th, it was a day I will have great memories of for the rest of my life. We have many activities coming up this year, here is a quick review. At our regular meeting on January 19th, we will review our 2009 budget and fund raising activities. On Sunday February 1st, we will have a Super Bowl Party at the Lodge Starting at 6:00 p.m. This is open to all masons and their families. During our February 2nd meeting, we will have a guest speaker who will discuss the York Rite Organization and on the 16th a representative from Masonicare will be there to inform us about the many programs they offer. On the 21st of February we will have a Valentines' Dinner at Laskara Restaurant at 6:30. Please see the enclosed flyer for more information. On March 2nd we will have a quest speaker who will discuss the Scottish Rite and on March 16th, we will have the E.A. degree with our Junior Warden sitting in the East. April 20th we will have the F.C. degree and it will be our Annual Inspection by Grand Lodge. Each of us was called to Masonry for a variety of different reasons, but once we joined we realized we all had in common the three great tenets of our organization, Friendship, Morality and Brotherly Love. I encourage you to become active in the Lodge and in your community and to bring those 3 tenets to life. I hope you will plan to join us as often as you can. Fraternally Yours, Greg Whitehouse WARDEN’S CORNER From the West It is indeed a privilege and honor to serve Compass Lodge as the Senior Warden for the upcoming term. I would like to thank you for having the confidence in me to fill this role as well as serve the lodge. It's hard to believe that just 4 years ago I was raised to the sublime degree and now serve as your Senior Warden. I would like to congratulate Greg on becoming Master for the ensuing year and wish him nothing but the best. For those who have not been to lodge in some time I encourage you to please attend and get involved and help us make a difference not only within in the walls of Compass Lodge but also in the community. It's shaping up to be a very exciting year with many of the things our Master has planned. I can't wait to get started. Cheers to a New Year filled with hope, prosperity and love towards all. Happy Holidays! Fraternally, Jerry Cavaliere – Senior Warden "The grand object of Masonry is to promote the happiness of the human race." -- Washington
From The South Greetings from the South, I would like to thank the Brothers of compass Lodge #9 for electing me into the position of Junior Warden. It is with great honor and pride to the fraternity that I will serve our Master and Brothers of the lodge. A new year is upon us and with that comes new opportunities. We have a committed theme and mission of promoting the labors of our good work back into the community. There will be many opportunities for everyone in the lodge to give back just a little to the community and our Master will be paving the way. Our lodge is special and committed to all the brothers. Frequent attendance at meetings will help you stay involved but we know time is a luxury few have. Please just take five minutes of your time to contact an officer in the log to provide an updated phone and email address and just say hello. There will be several events of Stewardship where your time and talent can be used outside of lodge to help others in the community. As always, the Master has an exciting agenda laid out for the pursuing year encompassing a passion for the best ritual work , events to unite the brothers in acts of stewardship and just some great times getting together in and out of lodge. Welcome and let us unite and enjoy in this great and good work! Fraternally, Jeffrey Cavaliere, Junior Warden
